Death to life, life to death
An old woman’s last sign, a baby’s first breath
Their paths to cross on that dark night,
she on her way to paradise, he on his way to life
And one last gift she thought to impart,
one last way to leave her mark
One departing word, lasting and true,
she left a piece of her heart, borrowed and blue
Although the time had passed for final goodbyes,
she engraved her love for you in your baby’s blue eyes
